Sands Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity. Most of our team are volunteers. We rely heavily on donations and fundraising efforts to continue the important work of providing support to bereaved families throughout Queensland.
There are a number of ways to donate to Sands Queensland
Parents, family members and friends may choose to make a donation to Sands in memory of their baby. Donations are acknowledged in the monthly Sands newsletter if the donor requests.
Those attending your baby's funeral or memorial service might choose to donate to Sands in lieu of flowers. You can request your funeral director or celebrant to organise the details. Acknowledgements are sent to parents and a thank you letter is sent to the person making the donation.
Some parents have chosen to ask family and friends to make a donation to Sands at a later time - to mark what would have been their baby's birthday, for example. Others have arranged a fundraiser, such as a morning tea, at work.
You can give this url to family and friends if they wish to make an online donation in your baby's honour.
Alternatively you can set up page in memory of your baby through Every Day Hero and chose Sands Queensland as your charity. You are able to personalise the page and donators can leave messages of love and support.
We also welcome corporate donations and sponsorships. This kind of sponsorship offers an excellent opportunity to help Sands Queensland while also promoting your business. Many opportunities exist to help Sands Queensland fund special projects and events. Please contact us if you would like further details on how you or your organisation can assist the work of Sands.
All donations, large or small, are gratefully received by Sands.
Where will the donation go?
Donations help us to run community events and support meetings, to distribute materials to parents and hospitals and to undertake training and education of people who assist bereaved parents.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
