International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Please join Sands Queensland this October to honour all of our babies and
 'walk the steps they never got to take' plus help us raise some funds to continue supporting bereaved parents across Queensland.

Walk to Remember Butterfly

 Colour and decorate your own butterfly in memory of a precious baby. Butterflies can be sent to Sands Houes, Brisbane and we will proudly display them at the 2017 Walk to Remember. Photographs of the butterflies will also be posted on the Sands Queensland Walk To Remember Facebook page.

Walk: Short 10 minute circuit walk along the esplanade, fully paved for pram and wheelchair access.

Regsitration: Free registration, please register and help us plan the day

Butterflies: can be purchased for $15, to reserve your butterfly please register with Taeyla on 0458 200 465 or email

Symbol for Each Baby: We invite families to bring along an item to represent/symbolise their baby/ies such as a teddy, picture etc...these items will be placed at the front for everyone to see.  There will also be a family photo opportunity.

Name Reading: Upon arrival families will be asked to register their baby(s) names. During the name reading ceremony families will be invited to come forward and say their baby(s) name. Alternatively, a separate register will be available if families who prefer a Sands member to do this.

Memory book: Families are also invited to bring a 12" x 12" scrapbooking page to add to the Walk to Remember memory book.

Morning Tea: Following the Ceremony and Walk morning tea will be provided.

The annual Walk To Remember in Townsville allows parents, families, friends and members of our community to unite and participate in a memorial service, butterfly release and walk along The Strand.

All parents, family and friends of babies and children who have died are welcome to attend the Walk to Remember.

Please Register for inclusion of your Baby's Name in the Memorial Service Booklet, ordering of Butterflies and T-Shirts
