Sands Queensland offers a range of support services to families whose baby has died during pregnancy or shortly after birth. As a not-for-profit organisation we rely on a strong volunteer force and generous donations from the community to ensure our essential services reach all bereaved parents.

You can help by purchasing a gift for someone special from the selection below. An Ecard will be sent out to you, which can be forwarded onto the gift recipient or printed and given to them.

Miscarriage Pack $10

The resource pack has been produced in collaboration with health care professionals and women who have experienced miscarriage. The package is designed to meet the needs of parents who have experienced the death of a baby in early pregnancy and is also a useful resource for health care professionals to hand to parents.

Each pack contains; 'Saying Goodbye Before You've Said Hello' resource booklet, Remembrance Certificate, About Sands brochure and Ribbon Heart memory creation card.

Professional Pack $25

The Professional pack contains an example of each of the support brochures Sands has available. It is a perfect way for care providers to become familiar with Sands services and how they can better support families who have experienced the death of a baby.

Membership $30

Grief can be very isolating and many parents find that the newsletter is a welcome link to other parents and to the Sands Queensland office. It is a source of support and a forum for expressing feelings that non-bereaved parents may have difficulty understanding. Your sponsorship of a membership will give a parent a years subscription to Hourglass, providing them with an important connection to other bereaved families.

Memory Creation Pack $40

Bereaved parents have created this resource pack as a gift to parents whose baby has died or is about to die. It contains items to assist them in capturing memories of the precious limited time they have with their child. Each resource pack is donated to a hospital in memory of a child who has died.

Library Resources $50

Sands Queensland has an extensive library on topics relevant to bereaved parents. Items can be borrowed free of charge across the state and many find it an important resource for further research and to help them through their grief. The library is constantly updated and books can be donated in memory of a baby who has died.

Newsletter $250

Hourglass is Sands Queensland's member newsletter and is received by over 500 families, professionals and support workers. It is an important link to the wider community and is a vital support resource in itself. One sponsorship will ensure one edition is produced and distributed. By sponsoring a newsletter you may also like to have an edition dedicated 'in memory of' a baby who has died.

Glenn has generously offered his skills to Sands Queensland in memory of his son Baxter Robert Ainsworth, stillborn on the 13th of February 2014. All proceeds will go to Sands Queensland and help us to continue to support bereaved parents.
